What’s the best way to split tips out?

There’s no one-size-fits-all. The law does not tell you exactly how to split — only that it must be fair and transparent. Acas+1

Best practice is to:

  • Let the team have a say

  • Agree a structure that reflects roles, hours or contribution

  • Make the policy written, clear and shared with all staff

That way everyone understands how it works, and feels it’s fair.
